SWANA introduces new program manager

On May 21, 2003, Dr. John Skinner, executive director and CEO of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) announced the appointment of David Helmecki as Technical Programs Manager. Mr. Helmecki started work with the Silver Spring, Maryland-based association on April 24.

Mr. Helmecki brings nearly 20 years of experience to his new position at SWANA, including: overseeing the construction of a MRF and the construction/operation of a 45-acre Compost Facility for Prince George’s County (Maryland) as he managed the county’s solid waste and recycling routes, collections, processing, marketing, special wastes, contract development, and legislative policy.
